PLOT

✗ Sunday; Yami has been defeated thanks to the valor and bravery of many a citizen and citizens turned brush gods— with their help, Amaterasu was successfully able to throw the entity back through the portal from whence it came. Although the eclipse has finally ended and the darkness is no longer prominent, the whole affair has left substantial damage on the island. And maybe something more. For an hour, perhaps a little more, silence reigns over the island until suddenly... it seems to shake? The trembling can even be felt down to the bubble. Then with a loud, metallic screeching noise, a hatch opens under the waterline and... is that a submarine speeding away from the island and through the bubble? That. Was totally a submarine shooting out of that hatch and speeding away from the island and through the barrier, yep. Well. Will you look at that. What could it mean? ✗ Due to Yami wreaking havoc, a large part of the southern forest was destroyed— explorations or surveying of this damage will be cut off until Monday. The elevator will not be functioning Sunday, and all those who participated in the fighting were all moved back into the city itself during this time. Likely the best course of action, considering many a citizen would be exhausted by this point— plus, breathing all that nasty dust and other debris kicked up by Yami would definitely be harmful. Just saying. ✗ Although come Monday, any explorations would surprisingly reveal more than just damage. A new area will have appeared on Vatheon's island— or is it even an island? Turns out, it was an artificial island all along. The new area that has revealed itself is a concealed entrance, expertly placed within the side of Vatheon's southern forest quadrant. Foreigners will be able to find a half-destroyed, abandoned research facility from there. Previously invisible to any foreigners due to a barrier, the damage Yami wrought seems to have been enough to crash the barrier— as well as a good portion of the lab itself. ✗ Characters are free to access this new area whenever they please, although any explorations done within the first week (starting on Monday) will be taking place within THIS LOG, since there are a few important things characters will certainly be finding. Further details can be found within the log itself— including the possible return of a missing NPC. ✗ ATTENTION COMPUTER SAVVY CHARACTERS OF VATHEON: The data and computer information found within the main lab is heavily encrypted and unlike anything that's ever been seen before— that does not mean that it is impossible to crack, though! We are allowing either individual characters or groups of characters to sign up in order to crack information that would be found within the secret facility's main lab. Any and all characters that sign on will be getting pieces of information over the next few weeks. Teams will get more than individuals, although this doesn't mean that bigger chunks of information are more important or will fit together any easier. If you sign on, it is your responsibility to make sure that the information your character discovers becomes public knowledge— this also means that you are free to have your character willfully hold back any information they discover, as well! We will be posting all information that will be eventually attained in a separate, complete post for OOC viewing; although none of that information will be ICly spread unless characters who attain it choose to do so. Thanks to everyone who played with me for this Yami event! It's officially concluded, and tomorrow Amaterasu will return, in all of her shiny swirly glowing glory. And the reason she's back tomorrow? It's my birthday!



She'll be officially canon updated, but since the only thing that happened in canon was that she boarded the Ark and defeated Yami, then went to the Celestial Plain with Waka, there's not a radical change in her besides her power boost and very lovely appearance. (Most of her powers are still fairly restricted as they were when I initially apped her anyway)


I'm glad that you guys were so thrilled with the event and I'm really happy to have brought something exciting to Vatheon. I will thread out all of the Yami battle threads to completion, of course, so feel free to tag as much as you like! I will only stop tagging once I am no longer tagged. Thanks for playing!

Hey guys, it's time for my yearly return to the home of my ancestors!

... And by that I mean New York City. I'll have my laptop with me, but I'm also going to be dragged around by my family. My brother is also having his stateside wedding ceremony... at a summer camp, so there will be lots of shenanigans (partly involving me being the lone sane man in a sea of semidrunk guys with water guns).

So I'll be out of the state from August 15th until September 4th (though I go right back to classes/work the next day oh boy). I'll still tag a bit, but my tagging speed will be taking a dramatic drop. If you need me for something, grab me on email or Plurk and I'll get to it when I can.
