Hello, Vatheon! Today I bring you an event I've been working on for the past few months to pull off - an Okami event! From the 10th to the 12th, the final boss of Okami will crash on the island and a hardcore awesome battle will ensue, for everyone's entertainment! Well, in-character, it is probably less entertainment and more OH GOD.

On Friday August 10th, the day of the Solar Eclipse, a giant monster will appear on the island. It is a mechanical sphere, exuding an aura of pure darkness - the Emperor of Everlasting Darkness, Yami. Though Amaterasu will immediately lunge to fight him, she will have her powers sucked away and will be struck down, leaving her useless.

But this does not stop Yami. He will cause rampage, death and destruction on the island unless he is stopped. That's where the residents of Vatheon come in! So long as Amaterasu is out of commission, those on the island need to battle this force of darkness and keep him from descending into Vatheon proper. The coral failed to cut into his power, and with so few fighters able to fight with a divine force, all may seem hopeless as the attacks do paltry damage. But, towards the end, they will release something.

Certain Vatheon fighters close to the battle will become the hosts for the Celestial Brush Powers, and will become gods.

As each brush power escapes Yami's clutches, it settles into its nearest host. And with Amaterasu unavailable, it will find a home in anyone close enough to it. The character will become solid white, clothes and all, with divine red markings. The godhood will fade at the conclusion of the event, but the character will keep the Brush Technique permanently. They will only be able to do it a couple times a day, but hey, that's the power of a god.

So, with some gods contributing in the fight against Yami, things pick up! On Saturday, Yami will shift through several different forms and get progressively stronger against the Vatheon fighters, keeping pace with their rise in strength. As more Brush Gods appear, more of them can expose the true core and deal much more damage against him.

Things seem to be going pretty well, until Yami breaks out his final form. This form engulfs the whole island in a shroud of darkness, snuffing out the powers of the Brush Gods. All hope will seem lost, even as some fight on.

Sunday morning, before the sun rises, a voice arrives onto the Communicator Network. To some, that almost bouncing voice seems familiar - but at any rate, he's not here to chitchat! He's here to ask you all something very important - he will ask you to pray, for Amaterasu's strength and wellbeing. Pray to her, asking her to be strong and save you. To pray for the sun to come out again. There's no time for him or for you to dawdle, just search deep in your heart and believe in the power of the sun goddess!

Amaterasu, fueled by the faith and prayer, will rise, and become powerful. She will regain her full, true power, not hindered even by Lamufao - which allows her to make the sun rise and pierce through the bitter darkness! The Brush Techniques return to her, and she will lay a thrashing down on Yami. The battle will be intense, and something will rupture in the island. Once Amaterasu emerges triumphant, after a battle that lasts several hours, both she and Yami will disappear - and Vatheon will seem all the brighter and safer, for now...


So, to recap!

☼ Friday, the eclipse happens and Yami descends on the island.
☼ Amaterasu is rendered useless, leaving those on the island to battle with Yami.
☼ In the afternoon, a certain blow is struck and the first Celestial Brush is released. Battle becomes significantly easier.

☼ Saturday, Yami grows progressively stronger as more Celestial Brush powers are released.
☼ The Brush "hosts" (Vatheon residents) use their powers to open Yami's shell and expose his center.
☼ It appears that Yami is defeated, before he appears in his final form. This form shields his fragile core, and is nigh unbeatable.

☼ Sunday Morning, Vatheon is visited by a mysterious envoy. He appears on the Vatheon Network, encouraging residents to pray for Amaterasu to save them.
☼ Amaterasu, given the power of faith and prayer, is now powerful enough to destroy Yami.
☼ Stay tuned for that - there's a reveal to be had!

OKAY SO. There seem to be a few of us who want to do sparring things and I don't have you all on Plurk, so rather than having a million logs for sparring things, how do you feel about having one, general sparring log? Similar format to the mod event mingling posts?

I'm thinking maybe in the park, possibly with dummies and/or practice weapons for those who want to learn/would rather not get stabbed in the gut. During this curse, or after? I'm all for more input on this. And I am also cool with setting up the log :>

Breaking the plotting posts with another hiatus and man, all the cool events are happening while I'm gone XD. But I'll be leaving my laptop behind on my quest to explore the unexplored areas of the rumored place called USA.

Jokes aside, I'm leaving tomorrow to visit some friends in the US and will be gone for a couple of days. Until the 22nd, to be exact. In the meantime, if anyone should drop by Lucas' place for some reason or another, they'll find him snoozing. Yes, even through Yami the party crasher sending Vatheon his ah... regards.
