Superhero curse catch all plotting post

As requested, everybody is free to use this post as a catch all plotting post for the upcoming curse. We've noticed that people have already started to put together their basic concepts, or are starting to look for people to perhaps involve in their backstories, so please, use this post as you see fit to get help if you are still torn between concepts and would like some help, perhaps find people who you would like to team up with (or form a superhero rivalry with) or would like to see if there are others out there who have similar ideas as yours which would perhaps lead to cool future plotting, go right ahead!

Personally our suggestion is that if you have already started to put together your basic concepts, post what you have of your AU already in a comment to this post, and then everybody can see what sort of ideas are already out there, and perhaps find people they want to create a AU with together or start plotting with already for next week.

Not everyone who signs up to be a villain will be chosen, so please remember to make a hero back story too, just in case!

Success to you all and remember

Crocker is sorta going to be a parody of Mr. Freeze.

Since Crocker is already on the Jack Fenton scientist, for the purposes of this AU superhero/supervillain setup, Crocker is just going to be a full out mad scientist. Still crazy of course but nothing about paranormal rants going on. Also, going to have the tragic I lost someone I love story, since that's sticking close to canon.

Going to have ice powers, still debating on how those will work. Whether it's going to be a device or actually come out his hands/mouth, sorta Jack Frost style.

And still have Crocker morals to destory the hero (you know Timmy)

Also, any heroes interested in having a long rivaly with him? Or just be worked into his back story at all?

Shirley won't be too different in her AU verse.

The only real difference is that she grew up pretty strict environment. She grew up thinking that all the Orerines and all the people who aren't Ferines are evil. She thinks that they deserve to be punished and so on.

However, she won't actively kill them all though. She hates most people but yeah...she still has her own sets of morals here.

Kurloz Makara is currently on the signup list to be a villain! Regardless of whether he is picked for that, his powers are likely to be focused around bones, rather than echoing his fear manipulation/chucklevoodoos from canon. He'll have gained the ability to talk to his "friends on the other side" by biting off his tongue. His super hero/villain costume will be the the same skeleton design as he usually wears. In short, his powers will probably be related to reanimating the dead, though they'll be limited in scope- harder to manage the more he's doing/the larger the creature, etc.

If he does turn out to be a villain, he'll be looking for skeletons to use as minions- whether that means trying to dig up the plaza to look for supposedly buried bodies, or actively trying to kill people, that depends on what people want to plot!

If he doesn't become a villain, he'd be willing to help other heroes fight against their antagonists in exchange for a favor- probably a fetch quest, or some money for the Nostalgia Nook, or something to that effect!

Either way, in his AU backstory, he will believe his abilities are dedicated to his creepy clown religion, from which he will first have gotten the idea to dedicate his speech to the dead.

There will be a KH Sentai Team -- All members are not confirmed but there will be magical transformations and probably no skirts. Probably.

Tifa is going to be some kind of loner vigilante hero. Not thinking much in the way of powers except maybe superstrength.

Anya -- I would like her to be a villain's girlfriend if any of the potential villains are up for this! Obviously can't know for sure until the villains are confirmed, but we can think of options. She won't have any powers except her stunning good looks.

Laharl ... may be a villain. Or an antihero. I haven't figured out details yet.

Dirk Strider is Bro Strider's clone, and he's not particularly happy about that fact. After growing up spending his life around Bro's weirdo puppets and being called Mini Me, he did his best to get distance from his older self. Apparently getting distance meant fighting crime.

He's also definitely a sidekick. No main storyline asskicking for him. He's the guy who's behind the scenes, finding information on the bad guys and helping build the team cool gadgets that they use for one episode and never touch ever again. And occasionally getting kidnapped and putting everything on hold while the other heroes all come to the rescue. I'm definitely going to try to attach him to a group of heroes, be they sentai or teen titans/young Avengers style.

Hey, Summoner mun here and I signed him up to be a villain.

I want to go for a Robin Hood type with a good side of mass panic and political crimes. So riots, hazings, crazy shenanigans to breaks down rules in the city and just make an over all show of it while he robs and transfers money to organizations that need it.

He'll also keep animal controlling powers and will use them in heists. Small animals sneaking in, disarming alarms, as look outs. You'd be surprised at what enough rats and spiders can do. Also that charm of his will have him a good deal of followers working with him.

As for the back story, think I'll put a few points in tragic past, orphan related tragic past, a dash of bullying, and a few years of military service before he comes home jaded.

The war was in a jungle like areas, complete with tribes and all that old comic goodness, one of which his team managed to stumble upon during some gorilla tactics. The tribe they stumbled on- not so friendly, and his whole division got slaughtered during the ritual being preformed. He was to be as well, offered up to some god who's name he couldn't pronounce.

Laying there, having your insides moved around, not something fun, pretty sure he was going to go when that god they had been praying to- or maybe it was a different god, he doesn't know- intervened. His blood spilled on the alter and the ritual was closed, and ended up focusing on the wrong person.

It wasn't long till a mass of wild birds started to block out the sky and freak out the tribesmen, thinking it an omen as Summoner lay there among fetishes and torches. Soon the birds spiraled down and pecked and attacked at the men, making them flee from the clearing, leaving Summoner there- still with his distress radio.

Take it as fate, take it as fucking magic, either way, he's alive and needs to fucking do something with it. Especially with this new fancy power he's got, a voice that speaks and sways beasts. Maybe he'll find out about how he got this power, and why- but later. Maybe he'll meet someone who might know a bit about gods?

But what better way to use your powers when you get back from war, to get back at the warped fucking government that sent you in the shit to begin with, right?

People call him a common criminal, an unlawful menace, a thief with his heart in the right place, or to some, a word that's only used by them to make it seem like they don't care, like he's only terrible enough to get on someone's nerves, a Pest. The Pest to be precise.

"He's just a pest."
"The Pest that helped put some food on your table."
"Sure, I guess, but didn't he burn down city hall?"
"He sure did."

Bro Strider was signed up to be a villain and I'm really hoping he gets that role, but if not, I guess he can still have roughly the same backstory.

Also known as The Puppet Master, he has a knack for tinkering with technology. When he was a kid, he got bullied pretty badly for being a weirdo and ended up unable to put too much trust in other people. So he built a device that allows him to control customized puppets with his mind. With these puppets, he'll either resort to acts of villainy or acts of heroism, depending on the villain draw.

He also built a cloning device, which he used to clone both himself and Dave. This gave birth to Dirk and Davesprite. ...A crow got stuck in the cloning machine, okay. He couldn't do anything to stop it.

Darkleer

By day, Darkleer is a mild mannered single troll father who does medical work to pay the bills! By night... Or, you know, pretty much anytime, he is Big Shot, a heavy mecha'd tech hero!

Darkleer's only noticeable 'power' will be his STRENGTH, which I will be keeping and which will be needed because damn have you tried to walk around with a fuckton of metal on you, jeez. His main noticeable trait, however, will be that he will be decked in a super defense heavy power suit, a la Iron Patriot or some such. No matter what the universe, he will always be a weapon snob and thus refuses to use guns, so he'll be mainly relying on good ol' brute strength and a kind of tech-energy bow he can create from one of his gauntlets. (Thus the name 'Big Shot')

His main reason for appearing in Vatheon will be because he is tracking down a few villains in particular (Summoner and Mindfang if they get in as villains, if not you can always volunteer as one of his nemesises), but his cover will CLEARLY be the excellent schools that Vatheon offers for his children.

I came back at the best time.

So, Yu Narukami is going to be going full on sentai mode during this; instead of gaining a Persona when he entered the TV, he ended up with the ability to transform into an awesome hero. His powers will match Izanagi, being lightening and buffs, along with some epic physical attacks.

Beyond that, not much else changes, other than him being secretive about his super cool identity.

Interested in anyone that wants to be his teammates/rival, or even better, villains!

Davesprite will be a general advisor and the eyes for whatever hero team he's on.

He's a clone of Dave 'cause of Bro being all mad scientist-y by trying to bring his kid brother back from the dead via cloning...and then a crow flew right into the mix. Feathery asshole. It mutated him and now he has shapeshifting powers. Granted, the only animal he can transform into is a crow.

Piper McLean will be an awesome superhero.

Her backstory will be very similar to her canon one. Dad is a movie star, her mom left them when she was born, and she has illusion as her ability. Or she's a magical girl, I'm not sure which I'll go with.

Rainbow Dash is going to be a hero, too.

Her powers will be super speed and a bit of a strength increase. Not sure if RD is going to be a solo hero or if she'll work with a team.

Any CR translating stuff can be discussed here, too, if y'all want. uwu

Fortunately we've got Davesprite and Dirk mostly figured out- I believe DS is going to be teamed up with Nanaki, right? So he and Dirk won't directly work together but they'll keep in contact.

Dirk and RD need to have a past together, though. Because RD is definitely Dirk's favorite superhero in Vatheon.

Wally will be on the side of superheroes but not exactly an action kid? He'll most likely be a sort of support person. This is subject to change before the curse, but I'm picturing him as a bedridden boy with strong telepathic abilities as well as remote viewing (which is the ability to see places, people, or objects that are either far away or hidden somehow).

I figure he probably uses his remote viewing to have his own little adventures since he can't go out and have them himself.

This also gives some good opportunities to either help out and support some hero characters, or be kidnapped by a villain and have those powers exploited for heists or other nefarious deeds.

Devit I will be signing up to be a villain momentarily. He's somewhat of a gag/fail villain who doesn't seem to have any superpowers. Secretly though he has hammerspace powers and can pull things out of a little pocket dimension. That amount of things he can store in which could probably fit nicely in a large suitcase. Not overly big but big enough to hide away some handy things. It also explains how he manages to slip out of lock up no less then nine times a week and answers the important question of where on earth he was hiding a taser on a costume THAT tight.

His crime sprees include robbing banks, jewelry stores, and s&m fetish boutiques, painting big and offensive graffiti (who else has the balls to paint a giant dick on city hall?) and other miscellaneous annoying deeds.

I'm still working out some stuff for Gamzee (mainly a lot of his background) but what will likely be the case is that he'll be Kurloz's little brother through... ways. Who died once. And was revived by big bro the necromancer so he is now pretty much nigh invulnerable.

AKA you can't keep down the clown.

He's p. much gonna be big bro's dumb minion who doesn't question much and loves (un)life and is pretty much an ineffectual hero or villain. Who might still be able to revive like... dead puppies and shit. I am still working on that.

1. Ky's the maiden in distress/the one who needs rescuing. I might do this just if Sol's going to be a hero and doing some rescuing (player's still deciding), or maybe someone else would want to rescue him even if they don't.

2. Ky as a noisy police officer who's trying to hold the superheroes as well as the villains to a standard of law.

Karkat is going to be a hero! His powers might come off a little creepy/gory (though I tried not to be too extreme) being as they involve blood, so if that bothers you, this is your warning.

But to detail! Hero-Karkat will be able to utilize his blood as a weapon. He can sort of freestyle it, but generally he forms it into a pair of sickles, which are easier to control and know what he's doing with. One of his secondary powers will be advanced healing, namely in the form of pretty much instantaneous regeneration of his blood. That one's pretty much necessary or the primary ability would kill him from blood loss. He can't regenerate limbs or anything like that, but cuts, scrapes, etc (and also illnesses and infections though those aren't likely to be relevant) heal pretty darn quick. The other secondary power, rounding out the list, is the ability to sense heartbeats in relatively close proximity. He cannot use others' blood as a weapon, though, just his own.

Oh, and an addendum to the healing: don't take that to mean he can't get hurt! He can still lose energy, get knocked about, etc. Even if things heal it doesn't mean it doesn't hurt, and it's not like he can keep going forever without downtime. More serious injuries won't heal as quickly as the smaller ones, etc etc.

For backstory, it's fairly simple to canon for most of his life. Mutantblooded troll trying to avoid notice, etc etc, eventually hits his 6th wriggling day (think 13th birthday by human standards, but without the celebration). He goes to take out the trash, cuts his thumb on a can that's poked through the bag, and a couple trolls notice his odd blood before he can hide it. Long story short, they attack him, his powers manifest, they end up dead, and Karkat gets way freaked out.

Given time, though, he figures out his powers. He practices, eventually gets the idea of sickles since trying to do things without much hard focus tends to not work well. He also starts to notice that wow, people are a bunch of dumbasses and that gets them into trouble, and there's a lot of other people having troubles because of caste/genetic quirks/etc. This congeals into the idea of using his powers to do something about all that. Tada, hero.

He eventually picks up the hero name of Sickle Cell (referring to sickle cell anemia and the fact he makes sickles out of blood cells + whatever else is in there but you get the idea), and also a costume. For that I'm just using what would be his god tier outfit in canon, since it fits pretty well. You can find a nice fanart image of it here (art by averyniceprince @tumblr).

Gosh I've babbled. Beyond that there's the idea that a friend made the costume for him, and that maybe he was once tempted towards villainy since people are never going to stop being stupid and won't appreciate what he's done enough, but he basically stubborn'd his way past it since at his center, Karkat will always care a ton about people even if they're stupid assholes. If you have any thoughts/questions/plot ideas/etc, lemme know!

Pyunma will be an investigative journalist sympathetic to vigilante justice, when it's for the right causes. He'll likely end up using his time in Vatheon during this week trying to learn more about various heroes, villains, their battles, and their motivations. He might use it as an excuse to come along on some showdowns, but luckily for the heroes involved, give him a gun and he's capable of taking care of himself.

As for an AU backstory- he immigrated away from a wartorn African country as a young adult, only to return when he was older in order to expose the nature of the conflict there as a result of greed on the part of their former colonizer. After that was done, he started to learn about superheroes instead, and (as far as he knows) continued that work after coming to Vatheon.

He'll be looking for supers to deal with through the week, but fortunately he won't be selling any information to the bad guys!

Still need to work a lot on the backstory stuff, but the bit of Dhaos' canon history where he's come from elsewhere to gather something to save his brethren. Possibly still from space, and still probably terribly unlucky. I intend to go the villain route since surprise, surprise, that's his roll in canon.

At any rate, who wants to team up with a guy who's only power beyond being a trained martial artist is generating barriers? I know, I know, not really a typical villain power, is it?

Duke is going to be metal-aligned in the way of the series of Codex Alera - while in contact with metal, he can lock up emotions and ignore pain, and regardless of contact, he can sense where metal is around him (lets say ten-foot bubble around him for amazing accuracy, clock-directions and vague ideas of speed for 50ft). Wood / plastics would effectively neutralize his ability to ignore pain/steel (hahahaha) emotions.. Also, really really good with knives...

Intend to try for a villain duo with Dhaos. If he ends up as a hero instead, he's a rather.... unmotivated one. Why do you need his help again? Still tagteaming with Dhaos is very likely.

Anna is going to be water aligned in the way of the series Codex Alera, surprise surprise. She is going to be an empath of some power, which means that she will be easily incapacitated by being around large groups of people. Breathing underwater isn't hard, but she's too newly into her powers to fully know how to heal. She could probably do so if panicked! then collapse Very likely to figure out how to send images through water during event, and mostly going to be support c:

She clearly has attached herself to Mikoto because he is very stable in terms of emotions. (or, well, he doesn't moodswing as often as other people do.)

Again, will work on backstories depending on how people want to plot this.

Here's what I have planned so far for my girls:

Minako - I've decided Minako will have enhanced speed and flexibility and highlights under the codename Sailor V. AU background is simply she discovered her abilities at the age of 13 and while she used them to do well in sports at school, she never started to fight crime until a robbery happened close to where she was and thus Sailor V was born.

Renge - Renge has the ability to manipulate people with her mind. Downside is she can only do it with weak minded people (whatever causes it). I signed her up to be a villain, but her AU really works either way that she is a reporter for the local newspaper, mostly does the comic strips section every once in a while. But secretly she is a millionaire, who uses her money to what what she wants who goes by the name Otaku Queen. Odds are she'll pop up somewhere to try and catch a sneak peek and try and figure out who the heroes are, while at the same time hiding her own identity.

Bloom - Bloom's abilities are mostly based around fire. She can manipulate and absorb it and her background is simply she was abandoned at birth, in order to live a normal and happy life, but at sixteen she discovers what she has and ever since has used it to not only fight the bad guys, but at the same time discover who it is she really is and who her other family was.

Chii - Chii has the ability to connect to technology and use it. For example she could hack into things one normally couldn't with ease. If anyone wants her as a sidekick, I could work up a back story around them finding her.

Tohru - I thought I had Tohru's all planned out, but I think I'm going to stick with Tohru being powerless and very much like a damsel in distress. No idea how to work her back story because of it though. Help will be appreciated.

Akashi AU backstory, he will be the 4th successor of his father, the great archduke at Kyoto. His looks will be different too, he will wear a Mantle and a Crown. He is a master tactician and strategist, and able to manipulate people due to his great charisma and intelligence.

His abilities would be focused on his eyes, with his "Emperor Eyes" he can easily see and predict human impulses and see the immediate action that they will do next. He will also be quite fast and agile, able to dodge usual attacks of his opponents (and yes, special attacks sometimes applied due to his eyes) and using light sharp objects such as scissors to hurt his opponent. But he has no true fighting skills himself. That is why he will be accompanied by a spirit called Belias, a potent fire element creature that will assist him in fighting.

But that won't make him overpowered. Any surprised attacks that are not noticed by his "Emperor Eyes" would likely caught him off guard, and even with some agility, he might still be injured. And don't forget that despite all that, he is still a normal human so his defense is not even close to good, but only being average or even below average.

About the details of Belias, it is literally a creature. Akashi's father gave him a strange relic that said to be the protector of its family for generations and it turns out to be Belias. Belias has its own mana and it uses its mana in order to unleash powerful fire attacks. But it can also be used to heal itself or even heal Akashi, but its mana will drastically decreased and Belias won't be able to use its fire for a certain amount of time. It is also weak against ice/water elements attack, but sometimes it pays off with its formidable physical strength.

He will use his time in Vatheon planning things over and strike when his opponents are loose and unprepared. He clearly is godly when it comes to proper planning, and always thought a step further from his opponents. He will likely use a mansion up hill as his base, sometimes waiting for enemies or even people who wants to join forces with him.

He's best to be a villain; his wicked personality makes him really suitable to be one, and he will cause great terror and destruction to his opponents without mercy, he thrives only victory, and he will do anything to achieve that. Even sometimes it means slaughtering and killing.

But being a hero, I don't know. Maybe he can too, despite his arrogance and merciless attitude, he still has a sense of justice in him and still cares about his friends / allies so he might be interested in fighting to protect them and gain victory in the name of justice.

Well that's all I can think of now. Any suggestions or critics would be appreciated. And i welcome anyone who wants to plot something or even join forces with me!

Kanaya Maryam has been submitted as a villain, with the name "The Fashionista".
An aspiring young designer, Kanaya first got her chance to break into the fashion industry when she scored a spot on the hit reality TV show "Project Extreme Runway Say Yes to the Fashion Police Makeover for the Straight Guy/Girl". She was doing well, and even made it to the finals. In the last competition the judges were split 50-50, until the surprise celebrity judge was called in to break the tie. A rapper name Vanilla Ice Cube Tea came out to thunderous audience applause, and declare Kanaya's designs "Simplistic tripe. Minimalist to the point of boredom, these outfits are shallow and uninspired." The additional judge awarded the show to her haute couture competitor.

Losing to the octopus dress was bad enough, but to receive those comments from a guy in a hoodie with shorts set below his knees? It drove her insane. Clearly, people do not understand fashion, and it's time somebody did something about it.

After, of course, destroying her competitor's clothing line and assaulting the celebrity judge, she turned her attention on the world at large. Simplistic? Boring? If the world wants ridiculous outfits made out of food and light bulbs and trashcans or hair designed to look like a giant martini glass, then damn it, that's what the world is going to get. Like most villains, gadgets take a budget, so after holding up a high fashion show to rob the upper classer's in attendance, she began her true plans: forcing fashion onto an apathetic public.

Plans include firebombing budget clothing stores, slashing bad clothing of people on the streets, and lots of kidnapping. The worst dressed civilians she can find will be kidnapped and forced into her newest designs, complete with bizarre shoes with extra tall heels. Then they will be forced to do a rotation on her catwalk of death, lined with lava and spikes. Only a hero can put an end to this madness.

Of course, heroes tend to be the worst dressed of all, and will particularly draw her ire. At some point I'd love for her to kidnap a hero or their sidekick, sew them by their hideous outfit onto a giant bolt of fabric, and feed that through a three story tall sewing machine in a good old fashioned slow moving death trap. Either the sidekick's hero, or an ally may come to save them, or perhaps her hostage can effect their own escape.

Powers-wise she's all about the gadgets. She has a lipstick that conceals a sewing needle as a hidden weapon, a giant seam ripper as a regular dueling weapon, and other various fashion and sewing themed things like a measuring tape whip, pin cushion grenades, and a needle-and-thread grappling hook. Her outlandish over the top runway outfits are great for hiding a variety to tech goodies, and who knows what else she'll have up her sleeve. Also, robo-mannequin army.

-------------------------

Should she not make the cut as a villain, I'll probably just play her as an Edna Mode, designer for heroes and villains alike.

-------------------------

Skwisgaar Skwigelf, on the other hand, is going to be a hero with a magic guitar called "The Skald". With his magical axe granted to him by Odin, he can fly, shoot lasers, resist all injury, and move with incredible speed... as long as he continues to play. Magical powers granted by wicked guitar solos: it's pretty much going to be a giant 80's metal music video. Probably a touch of the 'upgrade' magic that shows up in those videos too. Boring old lunch? ♪♬ STEAK. Broken down car? ♪♬ BATMOBILE. Angry teacher keeping you down? ♪♬ LAUNCH HIM THROUGH THE ROOF.

His backstory is rather close to his canon history, where he ran from home after walking in on his mother in flagrante delicto. Running through the wilderness of Sweden, he was chased by wolves until he fell down a crevasse. There, in a cave he found a statue of a Norse god with his hand outstretched. There in his stone palm was a Gibson explorer. The difference is, rather than returning home and practicing every day before going through a dozen or more bands and ending up as lead guitar for Dethklok, in this AU the guitar awakens the spirit of Odin, who explains to Skwisgaar that he is his father, that the guitar is a gift to him, and that he should use it for good and justice. Bam, hero time.

Alright here we go.

So Night has a pretty troubled past (what's new). He came from a large family with around 10 older brothers who abused him horribly and caused him to run away at the age of 13. The abuse mostly started when he sprouted cat ears and a tail when he was 10 years old, but it's been a pretty shitty life overall.

So he runs away at 13 and becomes a homeless youth who then turns to amateur thieving to survive and be a general annoyance. His powers, on top of looking cute, help with keeping his capture record clean. Like a cat he is exceptionally good at disappearing and sneaking around without noise, along with being stupidly agile and well-balanced. He can be almost undetectable to the general public's eye when he wants to be.

So he isn't so much of a 'bad guy', but more like a troubled youth and angry at the world for making his life hard. At age 15 Shiro ([personal profile] paladaddy) picks him up and adopts him with the hope of giving him a better life.

He's 18 now and mostly done with his life of stealing, although sometimes his kleptomania gets too hard to control which may or may not land him in a bit of trouble.

So yes, troubled youth trying to turn to a life of helping people rather than stealing from them (but sometimes failing) with the added bonus of cat ears and a tail! I'm open for discussion and added crosscanon relationships C:

Rin and Yukio - (This is for both the Okumura twins)

Sharing a history with Night ([personal profile] darkasnight), Yukio ([personal profile] doctor_dragoon) and Shiro ([personal profile] paladaddy), Rin and Yukio were young children when their mother simply vanished one day. Their father had never been present in their lives at all, leaving them in a situation where they were forced to fend for themselves. Their only real protection were the fire and ice powers they developed shortly after their mother vanished. Living on the streets was difficult for both of them, though, and Rin was often put in situations where he had to defend and protect his younger, somewhat weaker little brother. Eventually, though, they were discovered by a kind priest who saw their plight and took them in.

The two actually grew up well under the care of the priest, even when another was added to their little family. Yukio excelled at his studies where Rin struggled and eventually dropped out. The idea of being a hero never really occurred to him, but his strong protective instincts and desire to save the weak and downtrodden often get him in to situations where acting as a hero is the only choice...

Rin's powers are Fire based, and similar in design to Mariko Yashida from the Marvel Universe. Yukio's ar Ice based.
