Event update

First off, sorry for getting this out so late. This was supposed to go up yesterday and then it did not.

Anyway, for those that have signed up for the Capture the Flag tournament

As you can see it will be played in three rounds. Which would make it logic to have three deadlines for deciding who wins which round.

For the first round (round orange) please let me know by thursday 6pm, vatheon standard time (EST) who won the round. If you cannot come to a decision by then, I'll go for guidance with the all mighty random number generator.

For the second round (round blue) please let me know by saturday 11:59pm, vatheon standard time (EST) who won the round. If you cannot come to a decision by then, I'll go for guidance with the all mighty random number generator.

For the third and final round, AKA the big finale, you have no deadline for deciding who takes the gold. It is a pretty small scale event and the price is only some star fish tokens so take your time. Or decide immediately. Whichever suits you best. If you cannot come to a decision, I would be more than happy to click the random number generator for you.


As for the prices, the winning team will go home with 25 star fish tokens each. The second place team will go home with 20 star fish tokens each. And all the participants will get a mug.


I'll put a thread up in this post for reporting the match outcomes to me. You can use the rest of the post for discussing and deciding who gets to win. Again, sorry for getting this up so late. If you need a refresher on the rules, they are right over here

I admittedly have almost forgotten about this as well (most RL stuff, sorry).

Ai doesn't have much if any combat so if it comes down to that she's not likely to win against fighting game characters. Unless, you know, magical girl powers from the event automatically grant her some amazing abilities.

I'm up for a dice roll if nothing else.

By the way, I know I'm super late with this, but since Ai and Otoha are working together, after this event wanna do some sort of thread where they at least interact on some level?

Otoha is a ridiculous fighter. I don't know anything about Magica, to be honest. :T He also has a transformation and long-range skills but... hm.

Also yessss. Does she drink? 8D;

Unless there are police for that here, this seventeen-year-old girl will drink!

The most combat skill Ai has naturally is shooting people with static electricity/magnetism. Which doesn't amount to much, admittedly, but if anything else she can use a bat to bludgeon people if all else fails.

I think the first round was won on a total, yet entertaining, fluke.

Ky would look disapprovingly at that drinking, but he's too French to do so.

Ky can put people in comas...and is still going to be trying very hard not to do that, and would probably forfeit the game if it actually happened. He doesn't have any long-range skills for the purposes of the power swap, though he does have a good head for strategy.

Dizzy is also a magical girl (from Madoka) for this event.

Strategy in this case would rely on information collected, right? Ai's been pretty silent-ish since she came to Vatheon, and the only time I can see Ky seeing what Team Ai + Otoha are capable of would be during their previous match, which may or may not have finished in time for Ky to witness it.

That, and the power-swap stuff would probably throw any pre-existing notions to the wind.

If you want to explore how Ky would react to putting someone in a coma, I'm up for Ai being the accidental target (though it would still bring up the question whether Team Hope would continue after Ky does so or if Otoha would have to go into the final round alone).

Sorry for being so derp about this. I don't know anything about anyone else's canons for this round.

Information collected, yes, but also Ky's a member of the Defense Force and the forest is his assigned sector, so I'd imagine he'd know it pretty well. He's also fought Otaha before, in a sparring setting, though with power swapping that won't be much of an advantage.

Ky would probably be able to get her out of the coma pretty quickly -- basically time will pass much faster for her and she'll live in some sort of fantasy world where one wish was granted -- so it would only be a question of if psychologically she was willing/able to continue to the next round.

Yeah, Otoha would be taking to the air for most of the round if he could, and his skills are pretty good both in terms of attack and in terms of being able to deal with the area. He frequently runs on the roofs in Vatheon anyway so I'm not worried about the trees...

However, due to the power swap he can feel pain, so if someone hurts him somehow he'll be stunned pretty badly.

I don't think Dizzy can fly presently (but I know nothing about Madoka) or the extent of her canon-swap, since she does have wings in her own canon.

Combat is supposed to be highly limited for this, but Ky would be doing his best to avoid it entirely, which would probably give Ai + Otoha some sort of advantage.

It sounds like the biggest advantage Ky and Dizzy would have (besides knowing each other beforehand) would be the knowledge of the terrain that Ky has, as you mentioned. In that regard, Team Hope would be ahead.

I think it may be best left up for a dice roll, all things said.
