Hello everyone! It's time for Curse 26 to hit the bubble--or well, on Sunday it will be. For now, we're going to give you a bit of a head's up so you can make some decisions on what to do this curse week!

We're not going to explain much yet; the full explanation will come on Sunday. But what we will say is that curse 26 will be a fairy tale curse. You will have the chance to pick a role for your character to play within a fairy tale -- big or small, animal or human, silly or serious, it's completely up to you! Folk tales, tall tales, fairy tales... everything is fair game except for one small detail. Your character cannot be royalty. Sorry, guys, no kings, queens, princesses or princes, known or unknown! There's a plot reason for this that will become clear with time, but for now, be creative and pick something else!

To help out with choosing, we compiled a list of internet resources with all sorts of tales on the internet. It can be found here, but feel free to use anything not on that list as well! The more creative everyone is, the better! If you have anything to add to this resource for your fellow players, just let us know.

But of course, with a curse like this some plotting will be necessary; we can't have people all filling the same roles, after all! While it is okay to double up on roles -or triple or more-- the more different roles we have, the more fun it will be. Feel free to use this post to plot and come up with what tales to use together. Your character will be suddenly planted into that role in the story--the natives will all acknowledge them as that role, and they will be wearing that sort of clothing and feel the urge to do that sort of action. That's all, though. For now, anyway.

The roles can be anything from a very specific role within a specific tale to a more general role. Anything goes, as long as it fits within the general fantastical fairy tale theme. For example, Gamzee here, will be a faun. That's about as fantastical as you can get. But there is more: how about a Big Bad Wolf, ready to snatch up anyone who leaves the path, a wicked witch who knows all the spells or perhaps a fairy godmother ready to do some good. Just think big and go for it! If you are not sure about something, you can always ask us.

And one more little bit--for the sake of the plot of the curse, which we are definitely not going to spoil here, we'll need some characters to sign up for a special role. There is one key factor that is important to this sign up, however. The sign up must be in pairs, and the characters must be in love. Think you and another mun have the characters for that? Sign up here and be sure to keep it a secret! There is more information on that post, if you're curious.

Finally, if anyone has any suggestions for quests and the like that would be found in fairy tales, feel free to suggest them; Vatheon entire will be changing into fairy tales, so there will be quests and things (and a dragon, don't worry).

A note: You won't need our permission for whoever you pick! Just about anything goes here; don't worry, we'll let you know if something doesn't work. So go crazy!

Is using SMT representations of mythological creatures acceptable if they still have the features a traditional representation has?

I ask mostly because many depictions of Makara are like... carved into pillars and walls, making it hard to see what they look like. And because they aren't as colourful :C

How aware are characters going to be of stuff? Will they instantly slide into their new roles and basically not really think of things being otherwise, or will they still be completely self-aware of how stuff normally is, or...?
