An IC newsletter?!
VATHEON
Help me help you help me! So I have this idea! It's a wondrous idea, born off of me staring at the walls in boredom. See? Creativity strikes at the most fascinating of times!
Anyway, point is, I have an idea for an IC newsletter. I have personally been out of the Vatheon IC loop for ages and ages because it's been a long time since I've been in this game steadily that I am pretty much fresh meat. Which is what gives me the idea to start an IC newsletter. Then it would help fresh meat, old meat, whoever wants to keep up with the game to keep up with the game! There were a lot of fresh meat this app cycle -- so instead of just the usual OH NO WHAT HAPPEN SEA WATER WET, we can have this sort of help bounce people into the game. So OOCly and ICly they can know what's going on -- along with the Welcome center (if that's still around)!
America is... America. He can do it, it doesn't matter. THE IC DETAILS DON'T REALLY MATTER. It's the OOC details that do! Because I can't do this without your help. I will personally take care of the newsletter write up and stuff myself but for what's in it, I need your help.
"Stop being vague, Squee! Get to the details!" I AM, I AM.
It's pretty much this: Every other week or so -- which would, if planned right, mean once before apps and once after apps -- I will put up an OOC post asking everyone basically "What are you up to?" and you will tell me what your characters have been doing lately, what "big events" are happening in the bubble, what plot events other characters should know about. So it'll have bits of gossip and bits of news and bits of everything else. There will even be a place for advertisements! As in, if your character is looking for a sparring partner -- instead of asking on the network -- if they're not the type to do so -- you can say so here and there will be a request for these things in the newsletter!
ICly it could be as simple as your character dropping off a folded piece of paper asking about it in a "suggestions box" outside of the newspaper place. BUT, for the first issue -- which is what this post will be planning -- it would be pretty bare bones! Because America hasn't really met a lot of people and he won't be really crying out on the network for help. Instead it'll be what he's learned from talking to locals, hearing on the network, and being a "man on the street". Everyone will wake up, ICly, the day of the newsletter and find one either under their door or in their mailbox and also a digital copy will be sent out on the SFC.
After this, when America has seen interest being shown in the newsletter, he'll reply to offers to help on the post of the first copy -- because in the advertisements, they'll be a place asking for help. A sort of "Like what you see? Join as at the Starfish Express today!" Something like that.
If this tl;dr has made any lick of sense, reply to this post with your comments, questions, suggestions, etc etc! If this idea is kind of responded well, I can have the first copy of this newsletter ready for when apps close! I need IC help and OOC help for this, so please -- if this interests you in any way, do hit me up!

Plot-wise there's Carol the new NPC who was looking for Thalassino aaaand...that's about it. For now. B)

Do expect plenty of boring, state of affairs announcements from her, though.

Aside from that, I think only Kenshin would actually read the thing, as long as it came in Japanese.
