☆ Plot - - -

✗ Another week, anotter curse. Ant to make matters worst, this time, the curse is just a little hard to bear with. Eggxactly the kind of scenario that snakes you wondeer what sort of sick criminal mastermind is beehind all of this! What kind of dogdamned cruel monster thinks up this sort of stuff?! Werewolf they not loved as a kid? Where will the insanity hend? Where?

Yes, as you might have guessed already, the curse this week is... animals.

✗ On monday morning, people will start waking up feeling a little... different. Their mind is still all there, but their bodies seem to be... well... how many of us always wanted a tail? Some ears? A paw or two, four, maybe? Hopefully plenty, because else this week is going to be unbearable.

That's right, starting monday morning, people will find themselves in animal bodies. Full animal bodies? Well, that is up to you! As it stands, there are three types of transformations you can choose from for your affected characters

Light - Your character is still in a generally human body with some added animal characteristics. Think ears, a tail maybe some fur. The choice is up to you but the character is still recognizably human.

Medium - Your character is in an animal body, however luckily it seems they have still retained some human like characteristics. Opposable thumbs maybe, the ability to speak, it is at your digression.

Heavy - Your character is in a full animal body, full stop. They are as beastly as beastly gets. No talking in this form. If you want to communicate with anyone, better bring it across in neighs and hoof stomping.

For all of these forms the fact remains that your character's mind is untouched. Meaning they can reason and think as well as they normally can. They also have their full range of memories available. Well... completely untouched is perhaps a generous way to put it. Whichever animal your character gets turned into does have its mild effects on the character. A character turned into an owl might suddenly feel like mice are a-okay when it comes to the menu and a dog-like character may feel like butts are really good for sniffing. Just little things, basically! A little spice to liven things up, if you will. Like things aren't lively enough already.

As a note, whichever transformation you pick sticks for the entire week. There will be no going from one form to the next, so choose wisely.

✗ But what if your character is already an animal? Well, in that case, they can still get hit with the curse. However you'll find that the reverse happens. Rather than transforming into an animal, they seem to find themselves suddenly as a human. For them too, three transformations are on offer.

Light - Your character remains as an animal, however suddenly they have a few more human characteristics. They may suddenly find themselves capable of human speech. Or with odd opposable thumbs. What now.

Medium - Your character finds themselves in an odd half human, half animal body. It certainly seems like they have been turned into a human, however parts of their original form still shine through; a pair of ears, maybe some remaining fur, it is all up to you.

Heavy - There is no going back, your character is fully human. With the skin and the toes and the odd belly button. Everything. Better get a new set of clothes. They'll be needed this week. Or hey, maybe just run around naked. Whatever floats your goat. I mean boat.

✗ So, what animals can we transform into? Well, the answer is simple! Your character can transform into all of the animals of the animal realm we know. In addition, if your character comes from a canon with a world with animals different from the ones we have on earth, those characters will also be allowed to transform into one of those animals.

✗ As always, this curse is completely optional. Additionally the tags !curse: thirty five have been created in both the log and network comm, so please tag the posts at your leisure.

Question...

If theoretically our character isn't human (but isn't an animal), can the curse make them human?

Oh sure ask me about whacky details I hadn't thought of yet.


Hmmm, I think not though, mostly on account of that being closer to the spirit of the species and canon swap curse we've already had.

Only if they are the same general species. So... two dogs would be able two, but a cat and a rabbit wouldn't.

Questions:

- Are wings okay for a light transformation? And if so can they let the character fly?

- What about characters who are nonhuman but look human? Can we change them into an animal? /stares at Ryu

- Sure, yes. And I imagine that depends on how big you make the wings.

- Yeah, they should be able to transform, no problem.

A question! For canons with different animals, would we be able to use those if they existed at some point in history, even if they don't exist in that character's time period?

Specifically, I was wondering about Loftwings - they appear in the Skyward Sword era, but have possibly died out by the Ocarina of Time era, even if symbols of them remain (the Hyrulean crest is widely speculated to be a Loftwing). They're still from that world, just extinct - it'd be like an Earth character becoming a dodo or a Tasmanian tiger (or a dinosaur :o ).

And what about creatures with supposive magical abilities for a light transformation. I am thinking of turning Yukio into a lightly transformed Kitsune demon.

Please, only actual biological normal animals for the transformations. He would be able to be a fox, just not any magical kitsune demon transformations.

Sarah's canon has a lot of non-human creatures, from things that look like mice and behave like them if mice could speak and had cults to dragons to herself to ahool.

They're in two clear categories, the intelligent cryptid ones and the ones that have the rough intelligence of a cat or dog. Would the latter category be what's available for me to choose from?
