These "super powers", can we rip things off from series with powers? Example, Codex Alera and "crafting" - through the power of an elemental, basically, people can do a variety of things related to the element. (Earthcrafters draw on the strength of the earth, can do feats of strength (if they aren't in contact with dirt, lose powers-), Windcrafters can move much faster than normal people, fly if they know how, but they can move fast enough to break their own body and salt/covering them in dirt cancels their powers.)
