If people depend on certain powers to keep them alive, those powers will still be working but will be limited to just keeping them alive. So Tony's core would work, just the suit would not.

Adding that this would also count for supernatural means. If your character is being kept alive due to their status as a shinigami, then the whole staying alive part of their powers still functions. It's just all the additional powers that would not for this curse.
