☆ Plot - - -

✗ This week, it seems like conversation is abuzz - in other words, quite a lot of the locals are spreading rumors and in turn the foreigners might feel compelled to do the same. Truth is irrelevant, since the details are either too interesting or bizarre to matter. There's only one problem - some of the rumors spread this week will be coming true.

That's right - shooting off ridiculous gossip and spreading random rumors results in those fabrications becoming reality. Take note that only rumors on a minor scale will be effective; for instance, a rumor consisting of ( omg x never shaves ) would count, but ( omg x secretly decapitates mailmen ) would not. Another limitation is that physical alteration is non-effectual unless it is minor - no complete body changes.

The rumors must be character-specific to work ( so no omg I heard all of Vatheon wets the bed at night ) but the character whom the rumor is about doesn't need to hear it. The effect does not need to last the whole week, therefore you are permitted to use different rumors or only have a single rumour affect a character during any part of the week. You are also allowed to compound rumours together into some bigger franken-rumor. Intent doesn't matter either, so a rumor that was purposely made up has as much chance of coming true as an actual misunderstanding.

As always the curses are completely optional and in this case not every rumor will be coming true, so you are in complete control to decide which rumors will and won't come true for your character.

I'm assuming that minor body changes means pimples, hair color, having a nose pointy like a witch, and that kind of thing, right? Would animal ears count? Could one grow...a rat tail if someone said something about hearing someone was a dirty rat?

The changes can't be anything that would be out of the ordinary for that species. So say... a saiyan could regrow their weird-ass monkey tail through a rumour, seeing that is something that is normal for that species, but your average human from your regular earth canon would not be able to. Does that make sense?
