✗ Over the course of the week, the coral seems to be slowly but surely picking back up in power. Just in time for a curse to hit next week.
A repeat of an older one-- a canon/species/power-swap.
What does this mean? Well, after midnight on Sunday next week, your characters will wake up, suddenly possessing a species or power from another canon. Meaning your squishy human might just suddenly be a Soul Eater style Meister, and your Soul Eater style Meister is suddenly a Persona user and your Persona user could very well suddenly be a Nobody.
In fact, go wild with it. There are only a few restrictions/guide lines.
- The power/species needs to be of a canon that is currently present in Vatheon. Dropped canons do not count. However the exact power does not need to be present as long as you don't go to crazy with it. For example, when it comes to Puella Magi★Madoka Magica, we have two puella magis. However, your character could also end up as an incubator or a witch.
- Character cannot swap into powers that are unique. Meaning, your character cannot wake up suddenly having Minato's super special awesome multiple-persona schtick. A good rule of thumb is that if there are multiple characters in a canon that have this power or if it is implied that this is a power/species that is common in that world, then it is fine for your character to end up as it.
Additionally, your character will roughly end up as the norm for that species/canon/power. Meaning, their powers will be average and nothing too out there.
- This is not an AU event. Meaning that when your character wakes up on Monday next week, they will remember their own canon and everything they have done up until that point. They just happen to suddenly be a persona user/alchemist/weapon/etc. Your character will not feel like they have always belonged to that canon, nor will they have a new AU background. They are simply themselves, just possessing some awesome new powers or a new species.
- It is also possible to swap within a canon. Taking Homestuck as an example, it is possible for a low-blooded troll to suddenly become a high-blooded troll and the other way around. Or in the case of Soul Eater, your meister could suddenly be a weapon and your weapon could suddenly be a meister. And the tickets in your hand are suddenly diamonds. Everything is possible.
- You are allowed to decide for yourself whether your character wakes up wearing the clothes of the canon you have chosen or whether they are still in their old duds. For some swaps, we know this might not be much of a difference or even a real necessity, but there are some other swaps that might make the need for new clothes a bit more pressing.
- You character is not swapping with someone. Meaning, you do not need to find anyone to trade powers with. You can just choose any power you want -- within the limits already mentioned, of course.
- If the power is normally exclusive to one gender, it is handwaved. There are no sex swaps.
So, how do you find out about a canon/power? Well, the easiest would be to know the canon, of course. But in case that is not possible, there are always canon information sources on the web. A good place for finding canon information sources would be in the applications of your fellow players. And in addition, we are opening this post up to ask questions of us, but also of your fellow players. Don't know what to go for? A little confused about one of the powers/species? Ask it here and hopefully one of us can help you out. This post can also be used to plot, chat, or even just show off what kind of things you are thinking of turning your character into.
Just keep in mind, Vatheon is a big game with plenty of canons. Think outside of the box! Go crazy! Just make it fun for both yourself and your fellow players.
As always, this curse if not mandatory, and you are welcome to skip over it if it is not your cup of tea. Vatheon itself will be just the way it always is. The locals are in no way changed, so don't worry. Even if you don't join in, there is still plenty to do for your characters.
Please keep in mind that this curse will be taking place next week and this is just a heads up so that everyone can get some proper planning in. So the curse will run from June 3rd to June 10th.
