It's All Just a Dream; Plotting Post!
So we know it can be a bit overwhelming to be crossing over with another game, especially if you're not familiar with the game, so we're going to be giving a brief synopsis of Somarium's setting--except tweaked to suit our plans for the week.
Somarium is, as people probably already know, based around the idea of dreams.
But as for the setting itself, it's broken up into a few parts!
This brings us to part two of our Somarium write-up: Dreams.
Characters, whether they are broadcast or not, will have much more vivid dreams while on the island. Characters who do not usually dream will also find themselves having dreams--or nightmares.
Hopefully it doesn't ruin your sleep too badly.
But another thing about Somarium and their funkydreambush Dreamberries. Starting on Wednesday, April 25th, characters' dreams may be broadcast. What does this mean?
As we said before, there are no NPCs on the island at all, currently. And again, this only is taking place on the island--Vatheon below is unchanged, and if you talk to the natives, they'll just stare at you like you've gone crazy. "The island is the same as always, what are you talking about?"
--
Now with that all taken care of, plotting! Remember, all of this is just for the week of April 22nd; the crossover event itself will happen in a different place.
Feel free to use this to plot whatever you'd like with your gamemates! We'll be coming up with a cross-game plotting meme later on in the week for your crossover weekend shenanigans.
If there are any questions, please ask them on the mod update, so we don't miss them! Thank you!
Somarium is, as people probably already know, based around the idea of dreams.
But as for the setting itself, it's broken up into a few parts!
- Espoir, the village
Espoir is a quaint little village in the very center of what was once Vatheon's island. It is eerily deserted, though there are plenty of houses that look as though they were once lived-in. The fields around Espoir are long grown-over with weeds, but there are remnants of scarecrows who will lash out at your character if they get too close, so look out! - Somni, the city
All around Espoir there is...a city. Skyscrapers, roads, cars, the works. Who thought it was a good idea to build a village inside of a city, anyway?
Regardless, it's still utterly deserted. The subway is run-down and the roads are littered with empty cars. If you listen closely, you might here someone whispering--
But no, it must just be your imagination. There's no one there. - The desert
If your adventurous character explores even further, they will find themselves at the edge of a desert.
This is most certainly not deserted. Venturing out too far will find you some sandsharks which are...exactly what they sound like. They are fond of swimming towards their victims, through the sand, fin the only thing that can be seen.
...The desert really isn't a nice place at all. - The ocean
Explore further and you'll find yourself at the ocean! ...wait this sounds familiar.
It's hard to say if it's Vatheon's ocean or not; regardless, you can't go any further than that. Better head on back.
It's probably a good four day trip to the very edge of the ocean regardless--do you really want to travel that long? - Above
Above Somarium there are two things one will see--a floating castle and a floating mountain. They drift lazily across the sky. While the floating castle cannot be accessedyet(it appears some sort of barrier exists around it; all flying characters will be rebuffed), the floating mountain can. However, it is just like any mountain one might encounter, covered in trees and filled with wild animals. Watch out for bears.

But another thing about Somarium and their funky
- Any sort of dream your character might have may be broadcast on the Dreamberry for everyone to see. It doesn't matter if it is a dream or a nightmare, silly, serious, memory or crack. They're dreams, after all!
- For the sake of simplicity and not over-spamming things, each character will only have one broadcast dream at the most. Some characters won't have a broadcast dream at all, and that's fine!
- For some dreams, characters will be able to interact with the dream. Nothing too life-changing and nothing too extreme--it's more like the character stepping into the dream and into a new setting. This will only be possible in dreams marked interactive, so mark your dreams clearly! The character dreaming may remember Vatheon or they may not! It depends on how they are in the dream, so be creative!
- All dreams will go in
caughtinanetwork; more technical information will be given when the actual event happens.
